Broken Laundrette is an independently published editorial project about public artwork, public statements and their presentation. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or produced for any artist, photographer, gallery, museum or publication it discusses.
01 / What this is
Criticism with a spin cycle.
The site combines art criticism, parody and close reading. Its targets are publicly presented artworks, portfolios, films, interviews and published rhetoric—not private life.
Satirical comparisons, comic titles and laundry metaphors are the site’s own expression. They should not be detached from the visible “unofficial parody and criticism” label or repeated as factual reporting.
02 / Sourcing
Receipts stay with the joke.
Factual claims are attributed to linked public sources wherever practical. Each field guide ends with its principal sources and any methodological limitations. Quotations are brief, contextualized and linked to their published source.
Unverified private information is not presented as established fact. If a comic motif is not a factual claim—crypto and money laundering, for example—the page says so directly.
03 / Corrections
Exact change includes changing it.
Substantive corrections are made transparently and the page’s visible update date is changed. A correction should identify the page, passage and a checkable source. Until a dedicated project address is configured, send corrections through the public account or message thread that shared the site.
Disagreement with criticism is not, by itself, a factual correction. Evidence is welcome; intimidation is not.
04 / Boundaries
Read. Share. Do not mobilize.
The project does not encourage trespass, unwanted contact, doxxing or coordinated targeting. Share the criticism; do not direct an audience at a private account, home or workplace.
Photographs credited to Reyvik on the original-load page are externally hosted from the credited source. Original campaign graphics contain no identifiable people or reproduced artworks.
05 / Privacy
Optional measurement.
Analytics runs only after a visitor chooses to allow it. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled. The site also loads Google Fonts and, on the original-load page, credited images from an external host.
Visitors can change their analytics choice at any time through the “Privacy choices” control.
